Whenever I think of Detroit it’s usually synonomous with being cold. Not too into that. Luckily talented track runner Tony GotTheMunchies brings some real heat from the Motor City with his new single Guilty. This laidback but energetic excerpt [which lasts exactly 3:13, ayyeee] has infectious punchlines and an even more memorable hook.

Produced by Taylor King, the track with its evolving bass lines and airy feel definitely leaves you with the munchies wanting to vibe at to at least one more track…or a couple. Feed your appetite for hiphop by listening to this track below.

Indie x Shaun B

shaun-b-vacay

Fresh off the success of Cocaine in the Evening, Shaun B returns with a startling new single ‘Indie.’ The East Atlanta native creates an element that can only be described as a state of euphoria. From the SlowKings production, to the strong pen and vocal range, even down to the Cam Kirk visual concept everything together is nothing less than exceptional. The airy light feel of the music combined with the monster bass on the production give us the best of both worlds on this ridin-round-town worthy track.

Fresh off of the release of the notorious Northside anthem Mayretta, verbal vigilante B.L.A.C.K. Baron gives us Mayretta: Atlanta Remix ; the dopest collective Atlanta emcee collaboration to hit the streets since Welcome to Atlanta. Calling Cool Club &a A-Town Grillz East Side artist Scotty ATL from the East Side, radio regular Joe Gifted repping for the West Side, and Southside stunner Deante’ Hitchcock, this track is full to the brim with bars.

This single is straight heat, and can be heard on B.L.A.C.K. Baron ‘s upcoming debut release Red Dawn, which is looming on a release in the late summer. Listen to this track HERE, and be on the look for more from this emerging emcee!

Mayretta x B.L.A.C.K. Baron ft. Scotty ATL

The Norf side of Atlanta hasn’t gotten much love over the years. Everyone bangs east, west, or SOUFSIDE, but until Migos came to be a household name, not many banged for the North Side. B.L.A.C.K. Baron, however, is not one of those people.

On the track Mayretta, Baron introduces us to his neck of the woods in a way that hasn’t been done before. While most people from Atlanta think of Cobb County, specifically Marietta as the suburbs and devoid of the real, he shows us that there are plenty cool cats pushing the culture. While the debate rages on about whether Cobb or Gwinnett is the real north side, Baron surely sets a strong argument for 75N side. For the remx, he leaned with Eastside emcee extraordinaire and No Genre’s own Scotty ATL for some real A Town ish! Check out Mayretta below, and let me know
which north side you’re rocking with!

From Nothing x Dope Diana

IMG_2532.JPG

It’s somewhat rare for an artist’s name to provide an accurate explanation of them as an individual, but for New Atlanta artist Dope Diana, it’s just that simple. In a world so full of negativity, Diana is an artist that pledges to promote positivity by any means, both through her music and her life. The title track off of her upcoming project From Nothing is no different.

On a jazzy and jovial beat, Dope Dian talks about how it feels to have succeeded after overcoming all of life’s struggles. The track can also be a huge source of motivation for someone who is at a low point in life. It’s a danceable song that comes along with a mantra that we are all dope, all unable to be defeated by anything that life throws at us. Check it out below and make sure to add it to your morning playlist to get your day started in the dopest way.

Trill Type x Kinny Summers {Official Video}

   Supreme Vizion Music Group artist Out of Houston by the name of Kinny Summers hits us with some new heat to match the weather. Yall know the love I have for Houston and all things trill and he continues the tradition. He has been staying consistent; his recent EP Mourning Slumber racked up a lot of fans with the diverse project featuring the title single Trill Type with its infectious and radio-ready hook. This is the exact trill type Southern artist influenced PARTYNEXTDOOR and Tory Lanes to have that H Town sound.

       The Trill Type video is one of the most interesting I’ve seen in quite a while. When Kinny comes home to his “girl” in the beginning I assume that it’ll be a typical performance based video. That is, until three or four girls more girls show up in the same apartment throughout the course of the visuals. What happens with all of these girls in the same place at the same time? THAT you have to watch the video to see and be on the edge of your seat like I was. Check it out below and be on the lookout for Kinny’s new project #ISMSTM dropping on all platforms on 7-14-17!

Pussy Boy x Mz. Daisy {Official Video}

The surprising girl power anthem of the summer comes in the form of what would appear to the naked eye to be a diss track. Emcee Mz. Daisy is a literally and metaphorically colorful artist who has been putting in work on the indie Atlanta scene for quite some time. Along with hoping to spread positive vibes and good times to all she encounters, she also holds no stops when it comes to keeping it real. This shows in the video for Pussy Boy.

     Shot in the Old Fourth Ward, one of the most flourishing creative hubs in the city, Mz. Daisy and her prismatic posse chill out as she puts you on about the type of men she refuses to let in her aura. While the title can sound like a negative track about men, it’s definitely a track that lists all the signs of a fuckboy without slandering the real ones. She confronts topics like ignorance and over-sexualization as turn offs. This was something I could definitely relate to and I think many lady listeners will as well. Check out the rad rainbow visuals below!
