New music from one of New Atlanta’s most outspoken influencer Maui Max. The young emcee has been making some noise on the scene for quite some time qith his introspective bars and philosophical perspective on things both ratchet ans sophisticated. He has also distinguished himself by being extremely open with struggle with depression. I, as well as many others in the industry, commend him for infusing his bars with the realness. The black community has had a problem with masking our mental health issues, but I am so grateful for this generation of artists being a light and creating a dialogue that can save lives. Take a trip with Max above in the visuals for When I’m Geeked.
If you’re looking for the perfect end of summer banger to ride out to and instill pride in the heart of every true ATLien, look no further. Fresh off of the release of the notorious Northside anthem Mayretta, verbal vigilante B.L.A.C.K. Baron gives us Mayretta: Atlanta Remix ; the dopest collective Atlanta emcee collaboration to hit the streets since Welcome to Atlanta. Calling Cool Club &a A-Town Grillz East Side artist Scotty ATL from the East Side, radio regular Joe Gifted repping for the West Side, and Southside stunner Deante’ Hitchcock, this track is full to the brim with bars.
This single is straight heat, and can be heard on B.L.A.C.K. Baron ‘s upcoming debut release Red Dawn, which is looming on a release in the late summer. Listen to this track HERE, and be on the look for more from this emerging emcee!
The Norf side of Atlanta hasn’t gotten much love over the years. Everyone bangs east, west, or SOUFSIDE, but until Migos came to be a household name, not many banged for the North Side. B.L.A.C.K. Baron, however, is not one of those people.
On the track Mayretta, Baron introduces us to his neck of the woods in a way that hasn’t been done before. While most people from Atlanta think of Cobb County, specifically Marietta as the suburbs and devoid of the real, he shows us that there are plenty cool cats pushing the culture. While the debate rages on about whether Cobb or Gwinnett is the real north side, Baron surely sets a strong argument for 75N side. For the remx, he leaned with Eastside emcee extraordinaire and No Genre’s own Scotty ATL for some real A Town ish! Check out Mayretta below, and let me know
which north side you’re rocking with!
Passion accounts for a lot in life. It can be a distraction or a motivational force. Singer/songwriter and dancer extraordinaire NayStar is all about passion and chooses to use it for the latter.
“It’s titled passionate because that is what I am. Who I am. And what I feel most people should be. I’m passionate about my music, about life, about love, about everything.”
NayStar has been making waves across the industry with her choreography and music for several years now. She truly is a star and in her latest single, you can see that clearly. Keeping it classy but steamy, NayStar beacons us all to come get to know her and discover the passion that lies within us all. Aye, it worked on me! Check out the sultry scenes above, and listen to her Passionate project below! Be on the lookout for more from this rising icon!
Two of my favorite players from the Himalayas have teamed up again to bring us another smooth song to ride to this summer. Atlanta’s own Miles Stone has matched up with Doggy Style South’s own Southern Playa Messiah Da Rapper for The Luxury.
Just like the candy paint on many ole schools featured in the video, both of the artists bring a laidback lyrical attack to this track. While their flows are very different, they compliment the summer time in the city vibes that make you want to grab a B and a baddie. Snoop would be so proud.
Check the video below. The curves are to die for, and not just the ones on the cars. 😁
Continue to watch out for these dope dudes as they continue their tradition of putting on the South!
Last night visual artist Paper Frank hosted a free exhibition of his work in Midtown Atlanta and the hipsters came out in full force. Over 3000 people came to see the dope paintings of the tattoo/visual artist and he did not disappoint. The event also had free liquor for those 21 and up, so everyone in attendance definitely had an awesome time. Check out Frank’s work above. If you’re interested in purchasing one of his works, check out his site paperfrank.com. Below, check out a quick recap of the event as well as dope and candid footage of fellow visual/hiphop artist Chiirp and rapper Miles Stone TTU [too turnt up] freestyling.
