For some people, the Atlanta rap scene has become synonymous with mumble rap but emcee J. Nolan plans to change all of that real quick with Rise of ATLantis.
I’ve been working with this talented guy since 2012 so I was dying to sit down and catch up. Since discovering him and posting his music in 2012, this artist has gotten his music in A LOt of higher places including TV and music placements; most recently being featured on the Instagram of Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel. On top of that, J Nolan has started his own blog entitled Fresh and Local ATL. Here he gives other up and coming emcess the opportunity to feature their music and events as well as recommending healthy eating options and holistic practices for the everyday human. (But only if it’s fresh).
Watch the interview below to hear us talk about the Atlanta rap scene, movie and TV placements, old school vs new school hip hop and more! Be on the lookout for Rise of ATLantis dropping early in the fall!
The wait is finally over! I am proud to present my FIRST music video. The track is entitled Keep It Player by southern rapper Miles Stone. Check it out below and hit me back with your questions/comments/concerns. 🙂

The emcee talks having No ID production [yes, THEE No ID], how he feels about fellow DC rappers, what it’s like to be in ATL, his influences and this year’s XXL freshman list. Check out the dopeness below.

Do To Me is the personality of the Hopeless Romantic. The Hopeless Romantic is the idealist, the sentimental dreamer, the imaginative, and fanciful when you get to know them. Being in love with the thought of love or watching true love unfold before my very eyes always brightened my spirit. And coming down from so much hurt and being inspired by a man who showed me how to love once again brought up so many emotions but I didn’t know how to tell him so putting it in a song was the easiest way…”
